DefaiCon Set to Headline at Istanbul Blockchain Week 2025

Artificial intelligence and decentralised finance will come under joint scrutiny this June at DefaiCon Istanbul, a dedicated event exploring how automated agents and DeFi protocols are intersecting across blockchain infrastructure.

Scheduled for 26 June 2025, the conference will take place at the Hilton Istanbul Bomonti Hotel & Conference Center as part of this year’s Istanbul Blockchain Week and organised by EAK Digital—a leading London-based blockchain marketing and events agency.

DefaiCon Istanbul will bring together software developers, researchers, investors, and company founders to examine the growing use of AI in blockchain-based systems—particularly in areas such as financial trading, protocol governance, and resource coordination. The event follows the inaugural DefaiCon, held in Dubai in 2024, which reportedly attracted over 3,000 attendees.

What is Istanbul Blockchain Week?

Now in its fourth year, Istanbul Blockchain Week (IBW) is a regional blockchain conference bringing together participants from across the web3 and cryptocurrency sectors. It takes place in one of the most active markets for digital asset trading, with Turkey consistently ranking among the top countries in terms of cryptocurrency usage and transaction volumes.

IBW includes a series of panel discussions, developer workshops, product showcases, and networking events. In addition to DefaiCon, this year’s programme features events such as a summit on tokenised real-world assets, a multi-day hackathon for blockchain developers (IstanHack), and an AI-generated music showcase.

The event is designed for a wide range of participants—from protocol developers and founders to regulators, researchers, and financial professionals—looking to examine developments in blockchain-based technologies.

What can we expect during DefaiCon?

DefaiCon Istanbul will focus specifically on the role of AI agents within decentralised finance (DeFi). These agents are designed to perform tasks typically carried out by humans—such as trading, governance voting, and system monitoring—within blockchain environments.

Scheduled speakers include Hey Anon and Wagmi CEO Daniele Sesta. The programme includes keynote talks, technical demonstrations, and open discussions on how autonomous systems may affect the structure and operation of decentralised networks.

The event will also feature live product demos and workshops, including tools related to protocol automation, zero-knowledge computing, and smart contract management. Past events have included the public debut of trading agents and trustless coordination tools now in development.
